Hi and Welcome! I'm Erica. I'm a 23 year old teacher living in Nevada and getting ready to go into my first full year of teaching. Last year I was lucky enough to get a long-term substitute position (at my old elementary school!!) in the fourth grade right after Thanksgiving. I literally finished student teaching on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and started my long-term job the following Monday. I was even more blessed that multiple positions opened up at the school (it wasn't looking so positive for new teachers in the district) and I was given the wonderful opportunity to teach 5th grade this coming year. I am excited that I will get to have some of my old students again, but I will still see all my of students (or most of them, for those that don't move). While it's my first full year as a contract teacher I have subbed throughout college in all grades K-12.
I have always wanted to teach, literally since Kindergarten I knew I wanted to teach. I "changed my mind" a few times as a teenager but ended up majoring in Elementary Education. I truly believe teaching is what I was meant to do. I love working with children and teaching them. There is never a boring moment in teaching. My students truly hold a special place in my heart. They are "my kids" as I don't have any children of my own!
I am so excited to have started a blog. I recently just started trying my hand at making products on TeachersPayTeachers. I got inspired after looking at so many cute and neat things on other teacher's stores and thinking to myself " I could probably do that!" so I youtubed a video, downloaded some digital scrapbook papers, frames, and graphics and gave it a go! I'd love to have you stop by and take a peek, and maybe even buy something! ;)
